Just revisited your blog - well done - a pretty impressive slog! - And its nice to see the pictures as well now. It's a shame you couldn't have taken a little more time over it and had shorter days - your feet might have appreciated it too!
Yes and no, Alan. The road-walking on Day 1 caused some blisters. I should have been more careful - hopefully a lesson learnt for my next LDW (though I'm loathe to use the term LDW in your company!)
I could have easily taken an extra day to get from Kinlochleven to Fort William, but the weather had set in, and I got into one of my "sod it, I'll just push on" moods.
My low rate of knots made me appreciate how unfit I am, and according to non-medical scales, I lost 5kg on the walk. I aim to do something about my fitness over winter. Although I remember saying the same last year :(
Well done, buddy, and be positive! Stamina is a bit more relevant than actual fitness I think. Anyway, ye'll soon be presenting 'Coast' - at least you'll be far less annoying than Mr Trench-man Neil Oliver! Give the man the number of a dentist!! :-)
well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John.

I find him okay in small dose. I'm sure he's an expert in his field, but I think he has yet to find his presentation style.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen such a big and impressive primus micron in my life!
