Aonghas MacNeacail

Caught a program on BBC2 Alba the other day about Aonghas "Dubh" MacNeacail. It fulfilled its mission statement and I've now added Angus' name to my mental shopping list. Sadly, only if there's subtitles for people like me, who are culturally lacking in their historical language.

Link - Birlinn; Wikipedia; interview.

I didn't know that he co-wrote Seachd (a film that I mentioned in a previous post). Hey ho, it's a small world.

Black Angus also wrote the poem which became the title track of Capercaillie's first commercial album Breisleach aka Delrium. Black Angus was also something of a ladies' man in his youth. Delrium is a brill song though!

Can't wait for Seachd to come to the Belmont.

Aye, the song was in the program. Also talking about some of his earlier English poems. He was in the UN poetry day too.
