My Prison - STC

Well, they are gone, and here must I remain,
This lime-tree bower my prison ! I have lost
Beauties and feelings, such as would have been
Most sweet to my remembrance even when age
Had dimm'd mine eyes to blindness ! They, meanwhile,
Friends, whom I never more may meet again,
On springy heath, along the hill-top edge,
Wander in gladness, and wind down, perchance,
To that still roaring dell, of which I told

From "This Lime-Tree Bower my Prison" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Link

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple

with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.

(full poem)

Sun's out, and I'm now on painkillers and stretching exercises. I just want to walk down the beach with my camera and watch the world go by. With or without coos, purple or Coleridge.

Oh woe is you, do hope you are wearing long black cloak with hand draped dramatically over forehead as you trudge wearily along the beach on your way to Thorntons to buy really expensive chocolates for overworked colleagues - nae cheap stuff fae Lidl's.

Bring fruit for Kathy your tastefully dressed colleague.

I'll need to watch some more Bergman just to capture my mood. So much to do and not the energy to do it. Now the doc reckons it isn't stomach-related, the painkillers should help me get some sleep. Or some irn bru?

Stay away from the Seventh Seal - will only make you morbid (well more morbid). Sleep remedy - ask friends to bring round a rolled up bundle of comics and some Lucozade, Heinz chicken soup and some crackers. Oh, you could borrow my keep fit ball to help you stretch - not to be used on hillsides however.

Thought for the day...

The third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. The second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. The first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.
