On This Day in History

My namesake, Duncan, inherited the Scottish crown in 1034.

The raven himself is hoarse
That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan

According to Shakespeare, he was murdered in his sleep by MacBeth. Boo, hiss.

Ahem...
According to history he was a usurper and his grandfather, Abbot Crinan of Dunkeld was a nasty pasty warrior monk. He was killed at Pitgaveny in battle with Macbeth and the latter's cousin, Thorfinn, earl of Orkney.

Donnachadh means 'Brown-haired warrior' - good eh?

Please quote your sources when using terms like "according to history".

I knew that about the derivation of my name, the surname is "son of the king of the isle of Man". Much better than "son of the ugly one".
