April Fools Fun

Playing the annual game of spotting the fake news stories in Radio 4's "Today" programme. I reckon it's the RSPB repatriating birds that overstay their welcome. An hour later there was an interview with the head of a new government department of statistics. Their job being to release any new official statistics daily on a website. Honest. 0930 today, www.statistics.gov.uk - hmmm, maybe it is real.

Just been to the "Office for National Statistics" site - and besides being a waste of taxpayers money, it looks genuine. More pen-pushers and ticky-box officials rather than folk actually doing things for the good of the UK. What a joke.

One of our customers complained today that the internet was slow. I told them it was being shut down across the planet for spring cleaning. They believed me :o)

Doh. Did they leave you their credit card nr too?

I've the "BOFH" excuse generator on my pda. Things like the token fell out. Or - call the Internet's head office.

I gave up carrying my sonic screwdriver after using it at work once.

Seen it in the shops and had decided that would be the next logical step if I was bothered with wood-burning stoves. link

Sadly, I can't see an advantage in them up here in Scotland. Cooking outdoors needs dry weather, fuel and lack of sparks setting dry brush or damage tent. Hey ho, not for me I think. I'll stick with a gas burner - all fits into a small volume and is self-contained. link
