WIFE AND I BIVVIED AT 973 METRES JUST WEST OF THE SUMMIT ON SATURDAY NIGHT. NO TENT,JUST SLEEPING BAGS. V.COLD. UP AT 5. IF WE HAD FINALLY SLEPT WHEN THE SUN CAME ROUND YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD A SURPRISE!

WE WILL RECOGNISE YOU IF WE SEE YOU!

A round of Mull? At your pace, that'll kill a morning ;-)

Thanks. I'm definitely out of shape and out of practice. There was a chap with an iPod in bounding over the knobbly bits of rocks. A busy place. I think that I was the only person solely tackling the summit, as everyone else seemed to have come from, or were going to, another peak.

Wow! You must have had a cracking view. George said he was up during the night and the moonscape was wonderful. You and your wife have more guts than I have. Respect.

Cracking photos in all 3 reports. I think my favourite is the one of the bothy from on high. Looking at the map, your route up the Allt Clach nan Taillear must have been quite steep. I bet that you had an 'entertaining' time on the ridge :o). When I went up Cairn a' Mhaim the helicopter was dropping off the materials for the new path, I got some close up photos of it. Looks like you had smashing weather.

You walked the same route as I did and fitted in a Munro. That's a bloody fine effort, in my book.
I was completely burst by the time I got home :o)

Impressive stuff, Duncan. I like the views down to the bothy - IMO your widefield shot of it is a real cracker.

I like your pictures of Mordor, Frodo. Well done on getting the ring all the way up there.

Those are some beautiful pictures. It looks like quite a hike though.

Thanks for the kind comments folks. Mike, I decided to keep the Ring - should be handy at work. One Ring to bind them all, and in the darkness, mark them.

Kristine - cheers. Not much of a hike, as people were bounding past me. I'm just slow and have the luxury of not caring how long I take. Heck, if I had had Monday off (despite what the BRITISH news said, it was NOT a holiday in Scotland, grrr) I'd have camped at Derry Lodge and strolled back Monday afternoon.

But I couldn't even phone in sick, as too many people at work check my blog ;-(
