Comments v7

So, if sometimes Atom is faster, and sometimes RSS. Why not merge them and delete the duplicates? Back to Yahoo!Pipes for a looksee. Thanks to Tim for the deletion of duplicates.

Because of truncations, I had to put the author's name back at the beginning, this time with a separator.

If Atom and RSS feeds come from Google Data, can I shortcut them and go straight to source?

Retrieving comments:

You can retrieve the comments for a particular post by sending a GET to this post's comments feed URL:
GET http://www.blogger.com/feeds/blogID/postID/comments/default
Or you can get the comments from all posts by using the blog's comments feed URL:
GET http://www.blogger.com/feeds/blogID/comments/default

I extrapolated my feed details into the 2nd line, and added that to the united Atom and RSS feeds in Yahoo!Pipes.

So, the Comments v7 feed is now coming in from three sources. As Atom and RSS feeds are come from the Google Data API, I reckon they are superfluous to the feed widget, but who knows in this mish-mash of Internet services. So long as it all works, I think that may be it for comments, and I'll get rid of the earlier feeds. Of course, that's a big assumption.

woohoo - is it too much to note that on refreshing the page (F5), the comment v7 feed instantly updated the feed to include the comment that I had just been notified of by email.

Comments v 2, 3 & 4 had not. And v5 was totally empty.

Titter ye not, I had not heard anything from Blogger re this. In the words of the recently departed Donna Noble: "Am I bothered?" And, no, I'm not posting the solution on their help forum. And, yes, that is childish of me. Nyah, nyah, nyah.

Woe, woe and thrice woe .. F5 does not hack it for me and names at the start without brackets might grow on me

Have you tried Control-F5?

As to names at the front, I can't get rid of that as I'm simply concatenating the stings together into the item's title, Blogger then displays them in the browser, trimming the text to fit, dependant on font size. Having the text at the end (right) of the string means that it will be truncated most of the time.

I notice that there are still time delays between feeds. Worryingly, the 'Pipes' feed (v7) was empty today. But I had noticed that yesterday with other feeds.

I think it is time for me to kill comment feeds v2-5.
