Okay, so I have my first ever dSLR, and I'm looking at things differently. I'm looking at lighting, textures, buildings (well, I always did), so today found me at Duthie Park's Winter Gardens (link). With FJ, my camera and 55-200mm lens. I decided to wimp out and not use the tripod - I feel too self-conscious.
Me from FJ's phone-camera.

Saw this cricket (?) boundary line when walking away from the Gardens.

You got the spider! So excellent! And even the web! I'll have to get my blog updated soon.
the boundary - 'woggly'!
Oops - logged in with 'other' google identity.
FJ in a parallel universe.
I think it's a damn disgrace that those cacti were graffiti-ed on, the council ought to be mair careful who they let out!
No terrapins this year, sadly, again probably result of people annoying them.
Good afternoon's snapping - am hooked on the SLR now - must borrow departmental one
I'm enjoying being able to focus in on things like the spider. Still a lot of practice to get the right techniques for capturing the colours of the plants.
Very nice pictures - but is AktoMan going all soft now? What next? My favourite slippers, knitting patterns I have loved? ;)
LOL - as I'm in constant agony, hobbling around, I'm limited in my subject matter. I could have posted some photos of a lamp or teddy bear. Or things around the flat, with camera set at different settings for aperture, ISO, and white balance.
Knitting patterns - that would have to be the Tom Baker/Doc Who scarf I tried knitting as a kid.
Favourite slippers - the ones that dropped on the Aga stove and stunk out the kitchen.
Sorry you're not well. Hope you're out and about soon.
Thanks, Phil. I'm back to Doc nr 3 on Tuesday.
Great photos Mr D. I like the wiggly line one.
You're still holding the lens the wrong way round though....
Thanks for the feedback, Mike.
I'll get the pose right eventually. Maybe same day that I stop screwing my face up when looking through the viewfinder.
