We're going to need a bigger boat

Landed a place on an OM Winter Skills course. Yeah!

Then the gulp of realisation and the knotted stomach of mindedness.

The problem with trying to get out of one's comfort zone is that it is so darned comfortable in the zone.

More later. I'm off to change my trousers. Now then, Coire An–t Sneachda ... where have I heard that name before??

The Cairngorms: this time it's personal. No more slouching in a bothy. Ooo yaaa.

Adrenalin's kicking in now, can't you tell?

(we're in your snow, playing with your holez)

you are going to have a fantastic time. Iain and his team are fantastic, they really know there stuff.
I'll do a special blog entry tomorrow for you. I think you will like it.

Thanks, Darren. My head's not stopped spinning since I got the "go" order. Shifting all my tasks round to free up the weekend (work, work, work, repaint kitchen). Simon's already sent me a pic of his Wolverine-esque crampons. As ever, the level of support and advice on OM is stunning.

Expect some front-line blog entries over the weekend. Of course, "what happens at a meet, stays at a meet". But it is not as if *this* blogger will be running round the winter hills naked.
;-)

"what happens at a meet, stays at a meet" and any respective live updated blogs ;)

You really will have a good time, one tip you won't get on the threads is this: make sure that you hae no space in your rucksack. Otherwise you will stand a chance of having to carry some of the gear the instructors have like a rope or emergency shelter. Unless you are fine with the extra weight.

Thanks, Darren, and thanks for the photo and text on your blog.

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for Sunday dinner.
