Sale of iGoods

Written to O2 a few minutes ago...

Hi. Late afternoon on Monday 7/7/08 I filled out the online form for an upgrade of my SonyEriccson to the new 3g iPhone. Filled out my credit card details, account number, etc. Having waited for the form to appear for 2 hours, I was surprised to see it being processed.

However. It is now quarter-to-midnight and I've had no confirmation email through yet. As I don't like not knowing if my payment will be - or has been - processed against my card, I'd simply like you to tell me what stage your attempt to sell me an iPhone is at.

Having heard so many negative things about the 3g iPhone, I'm starting to have my doubts. Maybe I'll just wait until my current contract ends and look around for a good price on one of the HPC smartphones.

With the money they're making, you'd think they could put a size-limiter in the textbox instead of people finding out the hard way. Heck, they are in the communications business.

And my wee iPhone cover arrived from Singapore today. just a bit of protection until I can get an Otterbox.

Almost, but not quite, Roger, I wasn't "told to contact customer services by telephone."

After submitting my details, I got a screen that said "Thank you for your order. We are processing this and will contact you if there are any complications with the details you have provided."

22hrs later, and I have had neither a confirmation nor have O2 contacted me about "complications".

Just your standard 21st century SNAFU.
